We’ve all seen it! The Liberty circle is often seen as the pinnacle of connection at liberty. What is the unseen force connecting horse and handler? In this module we demystify the liberty circle, what makes it connected vs chaotic, and  break it down step by step.

Building resilience throughout your liberty work gives you confidence to take the halter off and KNOW your horse will look to YOU in moments of fear or uncertainty.

Strategically Taking the Halter Off 

Knowing when your horse is ready for the next step is a skill that often separates a successful flow in the training process from frustration and a lack of progress. Let’s dive into TRULY setting your horse up for success-no ego allowed.

Put all of the pieces together and learn to chain behaviors in a way that flows.  Finally giving you the experience of communication with your horse beyond the ropes. Connection embodied in a tangible way.

I started out as your typical obsessed horse girl: cleaning stalls to pay for lessons, dreaming of a magical relationship with horses–one that wasn’t transactional… but deep, honest, and true. No need for ropes or force. A real connection. 

My dream was quickly crushed when I took on a wild mustang at 14, and I realized that the movie-like connection I’d been imagining wouldn’t come as simply as I’d thought.

I was kicked, bucked off, bitten–every dangerous behavior in the book.

This drove me to learn how horses actually function, with the help of  established trainers online, clinics, and lessons…

I dove head first into liberty training.

After my second  liberty performance that left the audience in tears…

I realized the impact this work has on conscious horse people, and I needed to share it with the world. 

Since that day, I’ve gone on to train 50+ mustangs,  teach in person Liberty clinics, win over a dozen reserve or championship titles in training competitions, perform in front of thousands, and guide dozens of horse owners towards the connection THEY have dreamt of.

I’ve seen what it takes to move out of the transactional, unfulfilling way of being with horses and into a confident, connected relationship with them. 

Through liberty training I am here to empower horse owners to achieve what they believe deep down is possible.

FAQ's 

My horse is really dull to forward movement OR generally shutdown, can Liberty help?

YES! Empowered movement is one of my pillars of liberty work, you will hear me talk a lot about how to help your horse through this and I will guide you on the specifics in our feedback sessions. 

My horse struggles to relax and is often jumpy or anxious, will Liberty build her confidence?

Yes, yes, yes. As you build the communication skills with your horse that liberty requires, you will find your horse is able to relax and trust you more  as they deeply understand your expectations AND as you begin to trust yourself. We also talk a lot about your horses emotional state throughout the course and how to help them regulate. 

Do I need a specific kind of area to work in? 

Nope! All you need is the motivation to make it work, plenty of my students have made it all the way through the course with only access to their horses paddock. The foundational principles and skills you learn function whether your horse needs to be on a rope for safety or completely halter free.
